About Angela

Angela is a Hunter local; she is passionate about working with individuals, children and families. Angela is the founder and counsellor at Content Counselling, having worked with individuals, children and families for over 10 years. Angela is a trauma informed, Counsellor, Play Therapist and Group Facilitator.

While studying, Angela began her work with individuals, children and families as a disability support worker. Angela then worked as a family visit supervisor for children in OOHC and has been involved in family restorations. Angela realised how much children and families needed support and gained a role with Maitland Family Support where she worked for 4 years. Here Angela was a family worker and group facilitator. Alongside her private practice, Angela works part time for a large well known relationship service in the role of relationship counsellor.

Angela understands the challenges of being a parent, and that we are all doing the best we can with the resources we have available to us right now. Angela creates a safe space where children and adults can connect, be themselves, feel loved and supported for who they are. Angela meets children, young people and families where they are right now. Angela’s passion is working with individuals and families to contribute to better communities, she aims to ensure that her practice and place of work is inclusive and welcoming for all.  

Qualifications

  • Graduate Diploma in Counselling – University of New England
  • Bachelor of Social Science (Social Welfare) – Charles Sturt University
  • Diploma of Counselling – Australian College of Applied Psychology (ACAP)
  • Member of Australian Counselling Association
  • Angela is committed to ongoing learning and has attended and completed many other trainings
